The Communication Cell serves as the official communication arm of the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), facilitating a seamless and structured flow of information across students, faculty, administration, and external stakeholders. As the primary custodian of PUMBA’s institutional voice, the Cell is committed to upholding the department’s brand integrity, ensuring transparency, and strengthening its digital footprint.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Official Communication: Acts as the central authority for drafting, managing, and disseminating official notices, announcements, and departmental updates, ensuring consistency, clarity, and timeliness across all communication channels.
- Student Onboarding: Facilitates the smooth integration of newly admitted students into the PUMBA ecosystem by collecting essential data, establishing official WhatsApp groups, generating institutional email IDs, and providing structured orientation support
- Publication & Design: Oversees the end-to-end planning, editing, and publication of Nexus, PUMBA’s annual flagship magazine, in collaboration with the University Press. The Cell also produces Pumba Times, the department’s official newsletter, serving as a dynamic platform for sharing departmental news and events, business insights, industry updates, and featured case studies. Additionally, the Cell designs and produces certificates, badges, brochures, and other creative collaterals for departmental requirements
- Digital Presence & Branding: Manages PUMBA’s official social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and WhatsApp by curating purposeful content, festive communications, and event highlights. The Cell actively collaborates with other departmental cells to ensure cohesive branding and coordinated event promotions.
- Photography Club:The Communication Cell oversees the Photography Club, PUMBA, a creative initiative that brings together photography enthusiasts from within the department. The club contributes visual content to departmental publications, events, and digital platforms, enriching PUMBA’s storytelling and institutional memory
